An hour of your day back. Every day.
You did not go to law school to chase documents and reschedule consults. We take the recurring non-legal work off your desk and take responsibility for it being handled.
Half our fee is not due until the time is actually back.
You already know which work this is
It is the work that fills the gaps between the work you trained for.
- 1Chasing a client for documents you have asked for twice
- 2Moving a consult that has already been moved
- 3Answering the same question about what happens next
- 4Following up on the thing you said you would follow up on
- 5Putting together what should already be together
- 6The admin that only you seem to be able to finish
None of it needs a law degree. All of it needs your attention. Your attention is the only thing in the practice that bills.
They give you a person to manage. We take responsibility for getting the work off your desk.
There is a version of this where somebody sells you a person. You interview them. You train them. You write the process. When it goes wrong, it comes back to you.
That is a hire with the payroll removed. You are still the one managing it.
We do the opposite. We agree what is leaving your desk, we build the way it gets done, and we run it. If something behind it fails, we fix it and you do not hear about it.
What you notice is the work no longer arriving.
How it works
We agree the list
Before anything starts, you write down every recurring thing that currently reaches you, how often, and roughly how long it takes. Your numbers. That list is the baseline and nothing gets counted that is not on it.
We take it over
We build the way each item gets handled, and then we handle it. Each week you get one screen showing what was dealt with and anything that came back to you.
You stop touching it
The result is not a report. It is the work not reaching you, and staying that way. If it is still landing on your desk, we have not finished.
You do not pay in full until it works
Half starts the engagement.
The other half is not due until the work is genuinely off your desk and has stayed off.
If it takes us longer than we said it would, that is ours to carry. You do not pay more and you do not pay again.
Who this is for
Owner-led family and divorce practices in the US, 1-10 people, where the owner is still absorbing the non-legal work.
It is not for firms that already run a full admin operation.
And it is not for you if, when you actually count it, there is under an hour a day of this reaching you. If that is what we find on the call, we will say so and we will not take the engagement. There is nothing to give back.
What happens on the call
Two questions.
Roughly how many hours a week are going on work that does not need an attorney, and what your hourly rate is.
Fifteen minutes, and you will know whether this is worth anything to you. If it is not, we will tell you.
